Blog Spotlight 2018: Cheylene Dollar

For 2018 I’ve decided to move on from Working Wednesdays. From now on, on Wednesdays, you can find a Blog Spotlight on Basically, Britain. I want to highlight what other bloggers out there are doing. There are some great things going on in the blogging community, and I want to do what I can to bring light to some of them.

My first ever Blog Spotlight 2018: Cheylene Dollar @ !

First off, Cheylene’s blog is super adorable. She has some great things on her site and I can’t wait to dig more into it!

I sent Cheylene a list of questions about herself and her blog and here is what she had to say:

Tell us about yourself:

“Hi! My name is Cheylene Dollar, I’m from the upper peninsula of Michigan (yes, there are two parts). I’m a full-time college student heading to California next year!”

How did you get started blogging?

“My blog started a while ago, first adapting because I had gotten my heart broken and found a passion for writing. Putting all of my thoughts on paper made me feel better. As I proceeded to write, I realized I made it prone to my generation- the 20 something adults who have no idea what is going on but are still hanging on by a thread- relating it to myself and my readers.”

Blogger inspo?

“My inspo is “Chase the Sun” meaning, there is a lot of negative things that can go on in life… but chasing the sun is choosing the light, or choosing happiness. As human beings, are very likely to do that. ”

Link to your favorite post on your blog:

“My favorite blog is from when I turned 20. I listed 20 things that I had learned.”

Advice to other bloggers?

“It has been a struggle to blog, coming from the fact that I live in a small town, everyone knows everyone. Oftentimes, you have to worry less and live more. Your happiness and your passion shouldn’t be defined or liked by others. You don’t need to live for them, live for you!”

Blogging Milestones or Upcoming Blog Goals?

“My blogging goals are to motivate others to seize the day & I hope to inspire them in some sort of way. I have a history, living a troubled life with an addictive family, and I hope one day to have the courage to share my story.”

Proudest moment of your life so far:

“My happiest moment is that I have escaped this addictive family, being the first one to graduate and the first one to attend high school.”
